Gentle breezes carry the delightful aroma of a winter honeysuckle bush throughout my garden this month. The one by my front door was destroyed by contractors last remodel project and I had forgotten that I had planted another one tucked into a corner hidden from view and completely ignored.

I had to search a bit before finding a couple of the flowers responsible for such a lovely fragrance. Definitely time to plant a few more of these along a garden retaining wall where I had removed some unwieldy primrose jasmine last year. I have read that LoniceraĀ fragrantissima can be invasive, but not in my garden of neglect where this small shrub was planted 5 years ago.
